THE STORIES OF POLAROID PALACE
This Debut-EP, made over the course of the last 4 years, in itself already encompasses a journey through time. Emotionally, musically and technically it carries my first steps as a producer. From JODOQ, a one man solo-project, through partially collaborative works, to the band-like setup it has evolved into today. It feels like a collage of who I was, am and want to be as a musician and a human being. Stitched together, emotionally blunt but yet again sensitive, with caring love for detail and an ambitiously lofty dream to work towards.
PAST
2021
Inexperienced love can feel like an addiction to another person's affection, their touch, and their words. We often contort ourselves to fit what we think they want us to be, sacrificing our true selves in the process. Until we lose both our identity and, frequently, the person we desire. It's a cycle that continues until we discover the self-love necessary to embrace our authentic selves and let go of unattainable standards.
FUTURE
What if you passing an exam could decide if you had to leave a country you call home. This is what my flatmate had to go through, to pass his Organic-Chemistry Exam and receive his Bachelor Degree, which would allow him stay and find a job. If he failed he would have to leave Switzerland after 15 years and go back to Korea. This song is about helplessly standing by whilst seeing him silently coping with this immense pressure, knowing that there’s only one thing I can do. Be there as long as he still is.

These are a couple of Videos we made for the release of "Breach" on Instagram, Tiktok & Youtube Shorts. We have many more in this style that we will later edit into smaller segments to A/B test the results with slight variations. This approach allows us to recycle each piece content multiple times throughout the EP's release period.
I knew her since highschool and I always liked her. But it didn’t feel like she saw anything more than a friend in me. One night we coincidentally met at a club. She kissed me that night, we danced and when the whole dream ended after about 4 months of hot and cold, I asked myself if anything of this had ever happened if she hadn’t taken MDMA that night.

At times, it feels as though I'm battling with shadows of the past, striving to validate myself against people who are no longer of my life. I find myself caught in a cycle of measuring up to impossible standards, only to spiral into self-loathing when I fall short. Romantisizing the pursuit of achievement while simultaneously fearing that embracing self-love and compassion might diminish that drive.

A reflection on the time when my grandfather was battling cancer. It’s about the process of letting go and discovering peace as time progresses, leaving someone behind far too soon.
EP RELEASE SHOW
March/April 2025 in Zurich
We are in the process of securing the ideal location for the release show. The band will be joined on stage by a string and reeds section, bringing the orchestral elements of the EP to life in a live setting.
BONUS SINGLE feat. Lysah
Two lovers, for the first time, feel like they are with the person they want to spend their lifetime with, unsure if the other person feels the same. Saying yes to one thing means saying no to infinitely many others. It's funny how this feeling can make you feel so light and so heavy at the same time.
